Hello, I hope you are fine. Having returned from Melbourne and the UN's Health Conference I am more convicted than ever, both from preparing our exhibit and attending the various workshops and discussions that the time is ripe to shift our focus to community health with the emphasis on the wholistic approach that understands how the nourishing or neglecting of all of our needs whether on the physical, spiritual, emotional, environmental, mental or social level is really the determinant of experiencing vibrant contentment or illness of some sort. I saw many times the politics behind health but through the conference some new level of appreciation emerged that the top down bio-mechanical, illness model is not going to work long term. Thank goodness! If you would like to know more about my reflections please visit my other blog www.tracydegeer.com/
Mentioned there also is the new book launch by Deepak Chopra called ‘Muhammad, A Story of the Last Prophet’. I am very pleased that he is leading us once again to a deeper place of understanding our common humanity and divinity. You may be intrigued by the line "you are an important part of a circle of care". This is a phrase that I know is relevant to so many people's lives , including my own. We care for others but do not include ourselves in needing our own consistent care as well, so we run out of energy. This approach to life is unsustainable. It is not easy making the shift but it is important and actually helps us care for everyone to a greater extent. This is the name of my program . Please email me if you would like to know about it.
Finally I would like to share a chart summarising the health benefits of various fruit and vegetables . Enjoy them while you nourish all of you. Warm wishes Tracy
